A morning with Gibson

What a cutie! He has the most beautiful blue eyes. This session started out pretty serious. No matter what we did, Gibson wasn't going to crack a smile. We were singing, dancing, making all sorts of noises - and still - this is the look we were getting!

So, switch outfits and a little cough - and there it is!!!
On a little walk with Mom - is he not the sweetest?
Then he discovered how fun it was to bang. And bang, and bang, and bang! He loved this!
It was so much fun! I can't wait to go through the rest. If you're checking out Gibson, be sure to leave comments!

Noah is here!

I just love newborns! We first saw Tre when she was about 20 weeks pregnant with Noah. Here he is now just 5 days old. He is such a mellow baby and so fun to photograph!
Would you look at those eyes! Safe in Daddy's arms.
I love this family shot. I can imaging that they sit there and stare and stare at this beautiful baby boy.
I've been getting so lucky with newborn eye contact these days! I love this shot!
This is one that just melts my heart! The hand under the face - the hand flopped over - the sweet little lips - everything!
You'll get to see more of Noah as he grows up - his parents were smart and signed up for my baby plan - so we still have two more sessions to go!!!!

Be sure to leave comments for the new parents!

My first High School Senior - thanks, Josh!

Josh's family has been our neighbors for several years. I've been wanting to try my hand in High School Senior portraits for a while, and how lucky for me that Josh was willing to help me out!

I can't wait to get to the rest!

Sweet S Family!

Months ago I donated a session and a canvas print for an auction supporting the Parenting Place, a non-profit organization that seeks to strengthen families and break the cycle of child abuse through prevention, intervention, and educational resources. The lucky winner was this beautiful family!

Meet Jefferson, my newest nephew - 8 days old.

I missed his birth by only 2 hours and then had to wait a whole week to see him - but man, was it worth the wait. He is the definition of perfection. He's such a mellow baby.

This is Silas' first time spending anytime with a newborn - he was so great and attentive. He just kept whispering, "Sweet Jefferson." It was so cute!!!

So, I'll start with Silas and Jefferson. I love the way he's supporting his head (and he did this on his own) but more than that, I love being able to see the love on his face.
This is by far one of my favorite newborn images to date! I love how content he seems.
This image just says, "Hero" though I'm not sure which one is the real hero - I'd bet it could be argued either way.
These two images were taken on different days, at different times of the day - and I can't believe I got newborn eye contact both times! YIPPEE! I can't decide which one I like the best!!!

I typically do a majority of newborns in black/white - but wanted to show this one in color. His skin is so perfect!

I can't end this post without sharing one of the most precious things about Jefferson. He is a smiler! Anyone that says, "Newborns don't smile," hasn't met Jefferson. He has the sweetest smile ever. I so wish I knew what he was dreaming about.

Corie and Matt - you are beautiful parents. Thank you so much for letting me share those days with you!

Silas' beautiful cousins

If you've been reading my blog or you know me, you know that I have a brand new nephew! Jefferson is def. here. But before I introduce him, I want to share some pictures of Silas' other cousins. Jackson, Jacob, and Emma Grace were able to come spend a week with us at the end of the summer. It was sooooo much fun - and I'm so happy we were able to get the kids together before crazy school/soccer/dance schedules got in the way.

Jacob and Emma Grace are twins - just 7 weeks younger than Silas - so you can just imagine the
fun we had with a 5-year old and three 3-year olds running around the house! Chaotic doesn't describe it. The crazy thing is.... I can't wait to do it again! Emma Grace is such a little mama - I got a whole series of her like this - I just love them!
Silas really does love Jacob! Nothing like a little choke hold to really show his love!
A quick storyboard of all three! I love them so much!!!!
